The wonderful Alleghany County scenery and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream beats anything. The Crows to Jackson River stretch of Dunlap Creek in Alleghany County is 18.5 miles long and is a class I-IV section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. There are a few other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set.
