Tried to put in at the Fairfax Dam but the City of Fairfax has closed the road and posted no trespassing signs everywhere. Seem to be pretty serious about prosecuting violators and towing cars. The portage around dam is too hard for rafts and steep for others. Says Mike Meyer

your car. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. The wonderful Loudoun County scenery and the playfulness of the water will make you feel great. This is the only paddling stretch along Goose Creek. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an
| area with plenty of places for that. This is a pretty short section so you'll have to walk back to the start over and over. Great exercise and just hanging out with mother nature will make you glad you came.
Briefly about the general area:
The yearly rainfall here at Goose Creek is about average; May is the wettest month with most rain while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Through the warm months at Goose Creek highs are usually in the 80's. For the period of the moonlight hours it's generally in the 60's. The winter comes with highs in the 30's, and after the sun is down during the wintertime temperatures at Goose Creek dip into the 10's.
