Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often easier than elsewhere, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that rivers here are not as hard as elsewhere. The wonderful Virginia scenery and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water attract people from near and far. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. The Breaks to Russell Fork stretch of Grassy Creek in Virginia is 2 miles long and is a class IV+ section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. Grassy Creek doesn't have a lot of paddling sections, the Breaks
to Russell Fork section is the only one. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, there are lots of good places for that around here. Whitewater paddling here in the Cumberland Plateau Mountains is a great experience. The nearby hotels are a bit
away from the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. This is a pretty short section so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. Getting a good workout and spending some quality time in nature have people coming from far and near.
