When you're paddling down a Blue Ridge Mountains river like this one you always get great scenery along the way too. There are nice comfortable hotels here, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. There's camping available     near Happy Creek. This is the only paddling section along Happy Creek. A good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors have people coming from far and near. The nature scenery of Warren County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. This stretch has has enough mileage, suitable for an afternoon trip. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of spots for that. The Route 671 to Happy Cr. Road section of Happy Creek is 4.3 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class III+ section of whitewater. Briefly about the general area: A normal amount of rain falls here at Happy Creek; through the month of July you get the most rain around here, and the driest of the months is January. Through the   summer highs here at Happy Creek get into the 80's. Summer nighttime lows sink down to the 60's. All through the wintertime highs are regularly in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Happy Creek are in the 10's. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Blue Ridge Mountains. A nice forest close to Happy Creek is Harmony Hollow Orchard, and going for a hike along the Dickey Hill Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this vicinity.
