The Temperance Wayside to James River stretch of Hardware River in Virginia is 12 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class I-II section. If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more forgiving, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that rivers here are less demanding.
