The Temperance Wayside to James River stretch of Hardware River is 12 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class I-II section of whitewater. There aren’t     any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, in this general area you'll find lots of paddling places. A good workout and spending some quality time in nature are great reasons to come. The campgrounds here at Hardware River are pretty good. There are some good stretches to paddle in this river system, the Temperance Wayside to James River stretch is one of them. This stretch has enough mileage for an overnight trip, so why not pack your sleeping bag too. Briefly about the general area: All through the summertime here at Hardware River, high temperatures typically get into the 80's, and the overnight is a little cooler of course,   typically in the 60's. For the duration of the wintertime highs are ordinarily in the 40's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at Hardware River. Hardware River commonly gets lots of precipitation; May is when you get the most rain here, and January meanwhile is the driest month. No need to travel far to pop by attention-grabbing stuff like Muleshoe Bend.
