The wonderful Virginia scenery and the water flowing gracefully down Harris Creek make the trip here worthwhile. If you're coming from Lynchburg it's not a long drive at all to the starting location. If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more forgiving, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that rivers here are less demanding. Whether you're     whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of spots for that. There are many good hotels to choose from, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Harris Creek doesn't have a lot of paddling stretches, the Route 130 to James River stretch is the only one. On this section you do get some distance, suitable for an afternoon trip.
