This stretch of Hay's Creek is 1.25 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class II-III(V+) section. No shortage of good hotels, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. The Blue Ridge Mountains scenery is wonderful. The wonderful Virginia scenery and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream make the trip here worthwhile.     There's camping available near Hay's Creek. Getting some good exercise and spending some quality time in nature are great attractions for lots of people. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good spots. This section is very short so no need to bring snacks. There are no other sections to paddle along Hay's Creek than the Eastfields to Walker's Creek section. If you're coming from Lynchburg it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. Briefly about the general area: Since you're here at Hay's Creek why not take a look at Reservoir Hollow; if you want to visit some out of the ordinary stuff, visit Little Pinnacle. A typical amount of rainfall falls here at Hay's Creek; through   the month of May you get the most rain around here while January is commonly the driest month. Through the months of summer, highs mostly are in the 80's at Hay's Creek while overnight lows are ordinarily in the 60's. Through the winter highs are ordinarily in the 40's, and after the sun is down during the winter temperatures at Hay's Creek sink into the 20's.
