The starting point is not too far from Lynchburg, as you can see on the road map further down. There are a few other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. Getting a good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great reasons to come.     You can enjoy this section more if you take your time, so pack your sleeping bag.
