The scenic beauty of Virginia and the water flowing gracefully down Jennings Branch beats anything. The average Virginia whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be easier to run than those in other states, so don't forget that quite a few of the sections here are pretty easy. The Jennings Gap to Middle River section of Jennings Branch is 8 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class I-III section. This stretch has has enough mileage, good for a one day paddling trip. There are campgrounds quite near the river where
you can camp. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this is an area with
plenty of places for that. The put-in location is a short drive from Staunton-Waynesboro, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. A bit of exercise and just being out on the river for a while have people coming from far and near.
