The average Virginia whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be easier to run than those in other states, so don't forget that quite a few of the sections here are pretty easy. The Jennings Gap to Middle River section of Jennings Branch is 8 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class I-III section. This stretch has has enough mileage, good for a one day paddling trip. There are campgrounds quite near the river where     you can camp. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of places for that. The put-in location is a short drive from Staunton-Waynesboro, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. A bit of exercise and just being out on the river for a while have people coming from far and near. Briefly about the general area: Hiking is a popular thing to do around Jennings Branch; Bear Draft Trail is a nice local trail, and the Lookout Mountain Trail offers hiking at its best.
