The wonderful Craig County scenery and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water beats anything. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you'll find lots of paddling spots. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. The starting location is a reasonable drive from     Blacksburg-Christiansburg-Radford, as you can see on the road map further down. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often easier than in other states, so keep in mind that rivers here are less demanding. The Route 632 bridge to Route 311 bridge stretch is one of a few paddling stretches in this river system. There's camping available near Johns Creek. A bit of exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors will have you coming back for more. Briefly about the general area: Going for a hike along the Potts Mountain Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this neighborhood; nearby Rack Hollow is a great location to go. All through the warm days of summer highs here at Johns Creek get into the 80's. Once the sun is down it dips down to the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the   30's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Johns Creek. Johns Creek is a good place of common rain; July is the wettest month with most rain, and January meanwhile is the driest month.
