The beautiful scenery of Washington County and the water flowing gracefully down Laurel Creek make the trip here worthwhile. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way there are lots of good places for that around here. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room before
you come because it is a very popular destination. Getting a good workout and just hanging out with mother nature will have you coming back for more. The average Virginia whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit easier to master than those in other states, so if you're
not from around here don't forget that rivers here are less demanding. This is a short paddling stretch so no need to bring snacks. Laurel Creek doesn't have a lot of paddling stretches, the Damascus to South Fork of Holston River stretch is the only one.
