This section of Little Reed Island Creek in Virginia is 17.5 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class I-III section of whitewater. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Virginia is often easier than elsewhere, so don't forget that quite a few of the sections here are pretty easy. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. The starting location is a reasonable drive from Blacksburg-Christiansburg-Radford, as you can see on the road map further down. There are plenty of other stretches in this river system that can be paddled
as well. Great exercise and spending some quality time in nature are sure to keep you coming back for more. This section is long enough for an overnight trip if you take your time, so why not pack your sleeping bag too. The wonderful Carroll/ Pulaski County scenery and the cool
fresh water beats anything. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way there are lots of good places for that around here. The wild scenery of the Blue Ridge Mountains is great. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination.
