The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Blacksburg-Christiansburg-Radford, as you can see on the road map further down. The scenic beauty of Montgomery/ Floyd County and the water flowing gracefully down Little River - New R. Tributary have people coming here. A bit of exercise and just being out on the river for a while are great reasons to come. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Virginia tend to be more forgiving than the national average, so if you're not from around here don't forget that
a large number of rivers in this state are quite easy. The wild scenery of the Blue Ridge Mountains is great. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick.
This stretch has enough mileage for an overnight trip, so why not pack your camp stove too.
