  This section of Little River - New R. Tributary in Virginia is 13 miles long and has been rated as a class I-IV section by American Whitewater. The starting point is not too far from Blacksburg-Christiansburg-Radford, as you can see on the road map further down. The scenic beauty of Virginia and the cool fresh water attract people from near and far. When you're paddling down a Blue Ridge Mountains river like this one you always get great
    scenery along the way too. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this is an area with plenty of places for that. Getting some good exercise and just hanging out with mother nature have
a lot of people coming here. This section is long enough for an overnight trip if you take your time, so go ahead and pack your camping stuff. There are plenty of other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well. The campgrounds here at Little River - New R. Tributary are pretty good. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. If you've been out  
of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more forgiving, so if you're not from around here don't forget that the rivers in this state are less demanding.

You're sure to come across some wonderful people from Riner here. You undeniably must stop by Claytor Lake State Park if you're here at Little River - New R. Tributary. Going for a hike on the Brush Mountain Horse Trail is always a glorious adventure; there is a splendid hiking trail close by called the Fire Trail. This river is so perfect. An average amount of precipitation falls at Little River - New R.
