This section of Little Stony Creek in Giles County is 1.6 miles long and is a class IV-V(V+) section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Virginia is often easier than elsewhere, so if you're not from around here don't forget that rivers here are not as hard as elsewhere. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. This is a pretty short section so you'll have to walk back to the start over and over. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just being out on the river for a while are great reasons to come.
Briefly about the general area: Put some time aside to spend at Upper Falls since you're here at Little Stony Creek, and do take a hike on the Falt Peter Trail. At this river you will never have a bad time. You need to have a look at Barneys Wall since you're here at Little Stony
