This section of Little Stony Creek is 1.6 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class IV-V(V+) section of whitewater. If you're coming from Blacksburg-Christiansburg-Radford it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. There's camping available near Little Stony Creek. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. The average

There are so many stretches to paddle in this river system, the Cascades to USFS Parking Area stretch is just one of many. Great exercise and just hanging out with mother nature have a lot of people coming here. This is a somewhat short section so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, around here you'll find a large number of good rivers.

in the 80's, and the nighttime is rather cooler of course, commonly in the 60's. Highs all through the winter are regularly in the 30's; winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Little Stony Creek. It's always good to stop at Upper Falls, and Pacers Gap is unquestionably a good
spot to visit. The yearly rain here at Little Stony Creek is about average; through July this area sees the most rain, and the driest month is January.
