This section of Moormans River is 13.5 miles long and is a class I-III section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The beautiful scenery of Virginia and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream have people coming here. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just being out on the river for a while are sure to keep you coming back for more. Moormans River doesn't have a lot of paddling     sections, the Charlottesville Reservoir to Free Union section is the only one. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of rivers for that. The campgrounds here at Moormans River are pretty good.
