This stretch of Moormans River is 13.5 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class I-III section. There's camping available near Moormans River. Getting your paddling muscles activated and spending some quality time in nature will have you coming back for more. This section is long enough for an overnight trip if you take your time, so why not pack your sleeping bag too. Moormans River doesn't have a lot of paddling stretches, the Charlottesville Reservoir to Free Union stretch is the only one. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination.
