This stretch of North Anna River is 9.5 miles long and is a class II-III section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The wonderful Virginia scenery and the water flowing gracefully down North Anna River are reasons enough to come here and paddle. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside Virginia you might find the rivers here a bit more manageable, so you'd better keep in mind that rivers here are not as hard as elsewhere. one. The starting point is not too far from Richmond, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. There are some good hotels near the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. Getting some good exercise and spending some
| quality time in nature have a lot of people coming here. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of places for that. This is a pretty decent length section, it's perfect for a one day trip.
