If you're coming from Roanoke it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. The Campground to Jennings Creek section of North Creek in Virginia is 2.5 miles long and it is classified as a class II-IV section by American Whitewater. The natural beauty of Virginia and the cool fresh water
are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. There are no other stretches to paddle along North Creek than the Campground to Jennings Creek stretch. Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while have people coming from far and near. You can pitch a tent
or park your RV at a nearby campground. When you're paddling down a Blue Ridge Mountains river like this one you always get great scenery along the way too. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way in this general area you'll find lots of paddling places. This is a short paddling stretch so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick.
