The wonderful Alleghany County scenery and the playfulness of the water attract people from near and far. Great exercise and just hanging out with mother nature are great attractions for lots of people. The Route 661 to Dunlap Creek stretch is the only paddling stretch along Ogle Creek. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. Not too many hotels     nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. This is a pretty decent length section, it's good length for a morning trip. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good rivers. This stretch of Ogle Creek in Alleghany County is 5.7 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class II-III section of whitewater. Briefly about the general area: The Little Allegheny Mountain Trail offers hiking at its best. Through the warmest time of the year at Ogle Creek temperatures are regularly in the 80's with nighttime lows in the 50's. Highs through the wintertime are generally in the 30's, and nighttime lows through the winter for Ogle Creek tend to be in the 10's. Ogle   Creek typically gets a good deal of rain; the month of July is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest month of the year is February.
