No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you'll find lots of paddling rivers. The nature scenery of Alleghany County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream make the trip here worthwhile. Getting a good workout and just hanging out with mother nature will make you glad you came. This stretch has has enough mileage, suitable for an afternoon trip. The Route 661 to Dunlap     Creek stretch is the only paddling stretch along Ogle Creek. There's camping available near Ogle Creek. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Briefly about the general area: All through the warm days of summer at Ogle Creek temperatures are commonly in the 80's, and the night is a tad chillier of course, typically in the 50's. All through the wintertime this place gets highs in the 30's, and after the sun is down throughout the wintertime temperatures at Ogle Creek drop into the 10's. Don't leave Ogle Creek without first going for a hike along the Little Allegheny Mountain Trail.
