The natural beauty of Virginia and the water flowing gracefully down Passage Creek attract people from near and far. There are a few other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well. This
section has enough mileage for an overnight trip, so go ahead and pack your camping stuff. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way there are lots of good rivers for that around here. A good workout and just being out on the river
for a while are sure to keep you coming back for more. This section of Passage Creek is 21 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class I-II section. The river winds through the Blue Ridge Mountains and you get great scenery. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car.
