This stretch of Pimmit Run in Fairfax/ Arlington County is 3 miles long and has been rated as a class II-III section by American Whitewater. The put-in location is a short     drive from Washington-Arlington-Alexandria, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. This is a somewhat short section so you'll have to walk back to the start over and over. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. There are a few other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, in this general area you'll find lots of paddling rivers. A good workout and just hanging out with mother nature will make you glad you came. Briefly about the general area: Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Pimmit Run, and throughout the night it cools down to the 60's. Highs through the winter are ordinarily in the 40's, and winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Pimmit   Run. The amount of precipitation that falls at Pimmit Run is close to the national average; the month with most of the rain is May while February is generally the driest month.
