The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Washington-Arlington-Alexandria, as you can see on the road map further down. The average Virginia whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit easier to master than those in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that the rivers in this state are less demanding. This section is quite short so no need to bring snacks. Getting your paddling muscles activated and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great attractions for lots of people. Briefly about the general area:
Glen Echo Park is a good national park. For the duration of the warm days of summer at Pimmit Run highs are generally in the 80's while overnight lows are ordinarily in the 60's. Through the winter this place gets highs in the 40's with temperatures at Pimmit Run dipping down into the 20's during winter nights.
