back for more. This is an extremely short section so better bring some good walking shoes. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling rivers. There are many good hotels to choose from, but do book a room before you
come because it is a very popular destination. This is one of a small number of paddling stretches in this river system, there are a few others too. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. The natural beauty of Virginia and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream attract people from near and far.
Briefly about the general area: This river is so wonderful. Throughout the summertime months highs here at Pimmit Run reach the 80's; throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. The winter brings highs down
to the 40's, and after the sun is down during the wintertime temperatures at Pimmit Run sink into the 20's. Going for a hike on the Upland Trail is always a nice adventure; close by you come across brilliant locations like The Potomac Gorge. There are brilliant places to explore
along the Swamp Trail; the panoramas at Glen Echo Park will blow your mind. From a rainfall point of view Pimmit Run is a reasonably typical site; May is the month that gets the most rain; the driest month of the year is February.
