The starting point is not too far from Roanoke, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. The wonderful Virginia scenery and the playfulness of the water will make you feel great. Now this is a pretty long section, so make sure you pack enough food along with your camping gear. The sections for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Virginia are often more forgiving than in other states, so better not forget that a large number of rivers in this state are quite easy.
