The nature scenery of Fauquier/ Culpeper County and the cool fresh water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more forgiving, so you'd better keep in mind that many of the sections here are safe for beginners. Getting your paddling muscles activated and a chance to spend some time outdoors     will have you coming back for more. The Motts Run to Fredericksburg stretch is one of a few paddling stretches in this river system. No need to look hard for hotels, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. On this section you do get some distance, it's perfect for a one day trip. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good rivers. Briefly about the general area: At Rappahannock River through the long summer days highs are in the 80's, and the night is a tad cooler of course, mostly in the 60's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 40's; winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Rappahannock River.
