Virginia whitewater - Rivanna River - North Fork, Albemarle County Albemarle county, Advance Mills to Route 29 section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.   CLASS II     12 miles   This section of river is only runnable during high water and you will be walking during a typical July.  Hit it when it is high and you'll have some fun.  (I'm not sure there is anything that approaches Class II though)  Beware of a small dam at the Camelot subdivision but better yet, put in below the dam at 29 and run it to the S. fork of the Rivanna and beyond to Darden Towe.  Look for the nesting bald eagles. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often easier than in other states, so keep in mind that lots of rivers here are good for beginners.
