Says George Beach this is a fun stretch of whitewater. i have run numerous times and have enjoyed it every time i would recomend it for anyone. it has a few class 2-3 ledges that are lots of fun and uncountable gravel bars and small rock gardens....near the end there is a nice way to end your trip with a swimming hole complete with a rope swing and all!!!! Says Jeremy Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Virginia are easier than     the national norm, so if you're not from around here don't forget that many of the rivers here are not very demanding. This section of Robinson River is 19 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class II+ section. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. This is the only paddling section along Robinson River. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way in this general area you'll find lots of paddling spots. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. The wonderful Virginia scenery and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water attract people from near and far. Great exercise and spending some quality time in nature have people coming from   far and near. Briefly about the general area: The amount of rain that falls at Robinson River is close to the national average; the month of May is the wettest with most of the rain; the driest of the months is February. High temperatures at Robinson River all through the summer are in the 80's, and the overnight is somewhat colder of course, usually in the 50's. For the duration of the winter the highs are frequently in the 40's, and overnight lows in the 10's for Robinson River.
