The wonderful Madison County scenery and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream beats anything. The campgrounds here at Rose River are pretty good. The Two miles to Robinson River section of Rose River in Madison County is 2 miles long and is a class III section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, there are lots of good places |
for that around here. This is the only paddling section along Rose River. A bit of exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors have people coming from far and near. This is a bit of a short stretch so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch.

From a rainfall point of view Rose River is a quite normal spot; of all the months in a year July is the one with the most rain, and February on the other hand is the driest.
Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Rose River with overnight lows in the 60's. During the winter highs are in the 40's while Rose River overnight low temperatures during the wintertime are in the 20's. Near Rose River you find the Cedar Run Trail which is a wonderful hiking trail, and going for a hike on the Rose River Trail is always a fine adventure. | |
