This stretch of Shenandoah River - South Fork in Page/ Warren County is 27.5 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class I-II section of whitewater. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. The wild scenery of the Blue Ridge Mountains is great. The Route
675 to Bentonville section is one of a few paddling sections in this river system. If you hurry you can run this stretch in a day but why not make it an overnighter, so why not pack your camping stuff too. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this
is an area with plenty of places for that. Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while will make you glad you came. The nature scenery of Virginia and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream attract people from near and far. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often easier than in other states, so if you're not from around here don't forget that quite a few of the sections here are pretty easy.
