This stretch is mid length, it's good length for a morning trip. The nature scenery of Virginia and the playfulness of the water attract people from near and far. The average Virginia whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit easier to master than those in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many runs in this state are very easy. The campgrounds here at Thornton River are pretty good. Thornton     River doesn't have a lot of paddling sections, the Sperryville to Rock Mills section is the only one. A good workout and just hanging out with mother nature are sure to keep you coming back for more. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set.
