The nature scenery of -blank- County and the water flowing gracefully down Tye River beats anything. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. On this section you do get some distance, it's perfect for a one day trip. A bit of exercise and spending some quality time in nature will have you coming back for more. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit     more forgiving, so better not forget that rivers here are less demanding. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. There are so many stretches to paddle in this river system, the Route 654 to James River stretch is just one of many. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good spots. Briefly about the general area: All the water falling down from the sky makes Tye River a wet spot; all through the month of October you get the most rain around here; January is when it's the driest. For the period of the warm months, highs usually are in the 80's at Tye River. When the night sets in temperatures plunge down into the 60's.
