Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Virginia is often easier than elsewhere, so better not forget that many runs in this state are very easy. The starting location is a reasonable drive from Staunton-Waynesboro, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while are great attractions for lots of people. The campgrounds here at Tye River - North Fork are pretty good. There are plenty of other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick.
