The beautiful scenery of Nelson County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are reasons enough to come here and paddle. There are plenty of other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. The Above     Nash to Confluence with Tye River section of Tye River - North Fork in Virginia is 3 miles long and it is classified as a class V section by American Whitewater. A bit of exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great reasons to come.
