The average Virginia whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit easier to master than those in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that quite a few of the sections here are pretty easy. This stretch of Tye River - South Fork in Virginia is 3.7 miles long and is a class V section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The nature scenery of Nelson County and the cool fresh water make the trip here worthwhile. This is a pretty short section so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times.
Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you'll find lots of paddling rivers. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. If you're
