This section of Walker Creek is 29.5 miles long and has been rated as a class I-II section by American Whitewater. The average Virginia whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit easier to master than those in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that quite a few of the sections here are pretty easy. The put-in is not too far from Blacksburg-Christiansburg-Radford, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page.     There are no other stretches to paddle along Walker Creek than the Route 713 to Route 636 stretch. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling rivers. You can enjoy this stretch more if you take your time, so why not pack your camping stuff too. A bit of exercise and spending some quality time in nature have a lot of people coming here.
