The Lodgepole Campground to Hell's Crossing stretch of American River in Washington is 7.5 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class II-III+ section of whitewater. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Washington is often tougher than elsewhere, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that a large number of rivers in this state are not easy. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. There are some good stretches
to paddle in this river system, the Lodgepole Campground to Hell's Crossing stretch is one of them. The campgrounds here at American River are pretty good. The wild scenery of the Northern Cascade Range is great. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way
around here you'll find a large number of good places. The natural beauty of Washington and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water will make you feel great. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, you can easily run it on an afternoon. A bit of exercise and just hanging out with mother nature have a lot of people coming here.

Cascade Range if you like the outdoors. At American River through the summer months highs are in the 70's. Once the sun is down it drops down to the 40's. For the duration of the winter highs are in the 30's, and night lows in the 20's for American River. The high level of
rain makes American River a relatively wet place; of all the months in a year January is the one with the most rain, and July on the other hand is the driest.
