Washington whitewater - Baker River, Northern Cascade Range, Whatcom County
Whatcom
county,
North Cascades National Park to Baker Lake section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.
CLASS II 2.7 miles
The nature scenery of Whatcom County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water beats anything. This stretch of Baker River is 2.7 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class II section of whitewater. The average Washington whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master than those in other states, so better not forget that many runs in this state are not easy. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. The beauty of the Northern Cascade Range is a great plus for this river. This is a pretty short section so
no need to bring snacks. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good spots. A bit of exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are sure to keep you coming back for more. You might have to settle for
a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. This is the only paddling section along Baker River.
