Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Washington are harder than the national norm, so better not forget that the rivers in this state are less manageable. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get
to one, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of places
for that. Whitewater paddling here in the Olympic Mountains is a great experience. There are a few other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well. Getting a good workout and spending some quality time in nature will make you glad you came. This is a short paddling stretch so better bring some good walking shoes.

Briefly about the general area:
At Big Quilcene River you don’t see much rainfall; of all the months in a year December is the one with the most rain, and July on the other hand is the driest. Not enough hours in a day

to enjoy the Olympic Mountains.
Summertime at Big Quilcene River comes with high temperatures in the 60's while night lows are ordinarily in the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 40's, and night lows at Big Quilcene River through the wintertime ordinarily dip into the 30's.
