Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often more difficult than elsewhere, so keep in mind that rivers here are less forgiving. The nature scenery of Snohomish County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Mount Vernon-Anacortes, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. The Boulder Falls to mouth stretch is the only paddling stretch along Boulder River. The beautiful Northern Cascade Range scenery
is an added bonus. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Getting a good workout and spending some quality time in nature will make you glad you came. This stretch has has enough mileage, it's
good length for a morning trip. The Boulder Falls to mouth section of Boulder River in Washington is 5 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class III section. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling rivers.

for a glorious time. While you're here at Boulder River you can take a hike along the Finney Peak Trail. For the period of the long summer days at Boulder River temperatures are mostly in the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures fall down into the 50's. Highs during the
winter are regularly in the 40's with temperatures at Boulder River dipping down into the 30's during winter nights. Boulder River is a pretty wet place frequently with a great deal of rain; the month with most of the rain is December, and July is the month with the least moisture.
