The scenic beauty of Washington and the cool fresh water will make you feel great. Box Canyon Creek doesn't have a lot of paddling stretches, the to Kachess Reservoir stretch is the only one. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this area has a large number of paddling places. You might have     to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. A bit of exercise and just being out on the river for a while will make you glad you came. When you're paddling down a Northern Cascade Range river like this one you always get great scenery along the way too. The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master in this state than those in other states, so keep in mind that lots of rivers here are not for beginners. This is a pretty short section so you'll have to walk back to the start over and over. Briefly about the general area: There's fine hiking along the Cooper Pass Trail; the Kachess Ridge Trail offers hiking at its best. The high level of rain makes Box Canyon Creek a rather wet   location; the month with most of the rain is January; July is when it's the driest. Summer at Box Canyon Creek arrives with high temperatures in the 70's, and throughout the night it cools down to the 50's. During the wintertime this place gets highs in the 40's, and night lows at Box Canyon Creek during the wintertime mostly fall into the 30's. You'll in fact wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the enjoyable stuff in the Northern Cascade Range.
