The to Kachess Reservoir stretch of Box Canyon Creek is 2 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class III-IV+(V) section of whitewater. The beautiful scenery of Kittitas County and the cool fresh water have people coming here. Great exercise and spending some quality time in nature are great attractions for lots of people. The to Kachess Reservoir section is the only paddling section along     Box Canyon Creek. The river winds through the Northern Cascade Range and you get great scenery. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. This is a pretty short section so no need to bring snacks. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way in this general area you'll find lots of paddling places. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. Briefly about the general area: Much rain falls at Box Canyon Creek; January is when you get the most rain here; July on the other hand is the driest. Have a pleasant hiking adventure along the Cooper Pass Trail, and if you're here you can take a hike along the Kachess Ridge Trail. And if that's not enough there's heaps more enjoyable stuff to do in the   Northern Cascade Range. Summer brings highs in the 70's to Box Canyon Creek, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. Highs during the wintertime are commonly in the 40's with winter lows in the 30's overnight here at Box Canyon Creek.
