The scenic beauty of Washington and the cool fresh water will make you feel great. A good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors have a lot of people coming here. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Washington is often tougher than elsewhere, so better not forget that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. There are no other stretches to paddle along Butter Creek than the along FR 5270 stretch.     The campgrounds here at Butter Creek are pretty good. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, in this general area you'll find lots of paddling places. The Northern Cascade Range scenery is wonderful. This section is quite short so better bring some good walking shoes. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Briefly about the general area: Butter Creek is a wet spot that gets much rain; January is the wettest month with most snow while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation. All through the warm months highs here at Butter Creek reach the 70's while nighttime lows are commonly in the 40's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 30's, and winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Butter Creek.
