  This stretch of Calawah River is 14.5 miles long and is a class III section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Washington tend to be more challenging than the national average, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way in this general area you'll find lots of paddling spots. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. This section
    has enough mileage for an overnight trip, so pack your sleeping bag. A bit of exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors will have you coming back for more. There are some good sections to paddle in this river system, the Klahanie Campground to Bogachiel River access section
is one of them. Lodging is available near the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. The beautiful Olympic Mountains scenery is an added bonus. The natural beauty of Washington and the cool fresh water make the trip here worthwhile.

Calawah River sees pretty high levels of precipitation; the wettest month of the year is mostly December, that's the one that rains the most; August meanwhile is the driest month.
