  This stretch of Calawah River is 14.5 miles long and it is classified as a class III section by American Whitewater. The natural beauty of Clallam County and the playfulness of the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. If you hurry you can run this stretch in a day but why not make it an overnighter, so go ahead and pack your camp stove. Getting a good workout and spending some quality time in nature have a lot of people coming here. The Olympic Mountains scenery is wonderful. This river system has a few good paddling stretches and the Klahanie
    Campground to Bogachiel River access section is one of them. There are nice comfortable hotels here, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. The sections for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Washington are often more challenging than in
other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that the rivers in this state are less manageable. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you'll find lots of paddling spots. The campgrounds here at Calawah River are pretty good.

Briefly about the general area:
For the duration of the summertime highs here at Calawah River reach the 60's. Summer nighttime lows sink down to the 40's. Throughout the winter the highs are usually in the 40's with winter lows in the 30's overnight here at Calawah River. Calawah River gets a great deal of water; December is the wettest month with most rain, and August is the month with the least moisture.
