Klahanie Campground to Bogachiel River access section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.
CLASS III 14.5 miles
The Klahanie Campground to Bogachiel River access section of Calawah River is 14.5 miles long and has been rated as a class III section by American Whitewater. The beautiful scenery of Clallam County and the playfulness of the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, there are lots of good spots for that around here. No need to look hard for hotels, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby.
If you hurry you can run this stretch in a day but why not make it an overnighter, so why not pack your camp stove too. The average Washington whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master than those in other states, so if you're not from around here don't
forget that the rivers in this state are less manageable. When you're paddling down a Olympic Mountains river like this one you always get great scenery along the way too. This river system has a few good paddling stretches and the Klahanie Campground to Bogachiel River access section is one of them. Getting some good exercise and spending some quality time in nature are sure to keep you coming back for more.
