  If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so better not forget that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving. The scenic beauty of Washington and the playfulness of the water beats anything. This section of Calawah River - North Fork in Clallam County is 9.2 miles long and has been rated as a class II+ section by American Whitewater. Great exercise and just hanging
    out with mother nature are great attractions for lots of people. The put-in location is a short drive from Port Angeles, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you wonít get lost. When you're paddling
down a Olympic Mountains river like this one you always get great scenery along the way too. This is a pretty decent length section, it's good length for a morning trip. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. There arenít any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. No matter if you're whitewater  
rafting or kayaking around here you'll find a large number of good rivers. There are plenty of other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well.

Briefly about the general area:
While you're here at Calawah River - North Fork you can take a hike along the Rugged Ridge Trail, and there are plenty of people from Beaver here. So many fun things to do in the Olympic Mountains, not enough time. If the weather is good here at Calawah River - North Fork, you can go for a hike along the Pass Trail; when you're here it's always fun to pop by Bogachiel State Park.
