The Balch Bridge to South Fork Calawah confluence stretch is one of a few paddling stretches in this river system. Not too many hotels     nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Washington are often tougher than in other states, so if you're not from around here don't forget that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling spots. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby.
