The Balch Bridge to South Fork Calawah confluence section of Calawah River - North Fork in Washington is 9.2 miles long and it is classified as a class II+ section by American Whitewater. The beautiful scenery of Washington and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water beats anything. The Balch Bridge to South Fork Calawah confluence stretch is one of a few paddling stretches in this river system. Not too many hotels
    nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Washington are often tougher than in other states, so if you're not from around here don't forget that many of the sections
here are not safe for beginners. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling spots. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. The beauty of the Olympic Mountains is a great plus for this river. A good workout and spending some quality time in nature are sure to keep you coming back for more. This is a pretty decent length section, good for a one day paddling trip.

For the duration of the summer months, highs regularly are in the 70's at Calawah
 
River - North Fork. Once the sun is down it dips down to the 40's. Through the winter highs are in the 40's; winter nights come with lows in the 30's to Calawah River - North Fork.
Calawah River - North Fork is a wet site that gets much rainfall; November is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest of the months is July.
