This stretch of Canyon Creek - Lewis River Tributary in Cowlitz/Skamania County is 8.2 miles long and is a class IV-V section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. A good workout and just being out on the river for a while will have you coming back for more. The scenic beauty of Cowlitz/Skamania County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream beats anything. Some people prefer
whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling spots. The Twin Bridges to Fly Creek stretch is one of a few paddling stretches in this river system. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. On this section you do get some distance,
good for a one day paddling trip. The river winds through the Northern Cascade Range and you get great scenery. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Washington is often more difficult than elsewhere, so you'd better keep in mind that lots of rivers here are not for beginners.
