If you're coming from Mount Vernon-Anacortes it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. The Canyon Creek Bridge to Glacier SpringSouth stretch of Canyon Creek - North Fork Nooksack in Washington is 4.5 miles long and it is classified as a class IV-V+ section by American Whitewater. The wonderful Whatcom County scenery and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. If you've been whitewater rafting
and kayaking outside Washington you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so keep in mind that lots of rivers here are not for beginners. Getting a good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors have a lot of people coming here. The Northern Cascade Range scenery
is wonderful. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. This stretch has has enough mileage, good for a one day paddling trip. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of places for that. Canyon Creek - North Fork Nooksack doesn't have a lot of paddling sections, the Canyon Creek Bridge to Glacier SpringSouth section is the only one. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car.
