This stretch of Canyon Creek - Skagit Tributary in Washington is 6.7 miles long and has been rated as a class IV-V section by American Whitewater. The beauty of the Northern Cascade Range is a great plus for this river. Getting some good exercise and just being out on the river for a while have a lot of people coming here. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. This is a pretty decent length section, you can easily run it on an afternoon. There are no other stretches
to paddle along Canyon Creek - Skagit Tributary than the Slate Creek to Granite Creek stretch. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so don't forget that many runs in this state are not easy. Since
you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way in this general area you won't find many other paddling rivers. The wonderful Washington scenery and the playfulness of the water attract people from near and far. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby.
