If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many runs in this state are not easy. The put-in is not too far from Seattle-Tacoma-Bellevue, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. This stretch of Carbon River in Pierce County is 9 miles long and has been rated as a class V section by American Whitewater. The nature scenery of Pierce County and the beautiful way the water current moves down
the stream have people coming here. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, you can easily run it on an afternoon. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, around here you'll find a large number of good places. The nearby
hotels are a bit away from the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. There are some good sections to paddle in this river system, the Fairfax to 177th St. East section is one of them. Great exercise and spending some quality time in nature will make you glad you came. The beauty of the Northern Cascade Range is a great plus for this river.

is the wettest month with most rain; the driest month of the year is July. High temperatures at Carbon River during the warmest time of the year are in the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures sink down into the 50's. For the duration of the winter highs are in the 40's with winter lows in the 30's overnight here at Carbon River.
