If you're coming from Seattle-Tacoma-Bellevue it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. The wonderful Pierce County scenery and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water will make you feel great. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Washington are harder than the national norm, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many of the sections
here are not safe for beginners. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. There are some good stretches to paddle in this river system, the 177th St. East
to Puyallup River stretch is one of them. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, it's perfect for a one day trip. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good rivers for that around here. Getting some good exercise and just hanging out with mother nature have a lot of people coming here.
