county,
Amboy to North Fork Lewis section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.
CLASS II-III(IV) 10.3 miles
The average Washington whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be harder to run than those in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that rivers here are less forgiving. The scenic beauty of Clark County and the water flowing gracefully down Cedar Creek are reasons enough to come here and paddle. The starting location is a short drive from Longview-Kelso, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. This stretch of Cedar Creek in Washington is 10.3 miles long and has been rated as a class II-III(IV) section by American
Whitewater. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. A bit of exercise and just being out on the river for a while are great reasons to come. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good places for that around here. There are
no other stretches to paddle along Cedar Creek than the Amboy to North Fork Lewis stretch. The beautiful Northern Cascade Range scenery is an added bonus. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. You can enjoy this section more if you take your time, so why not pack your sleeping bag too.
