The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Washington are often tougher than in other states, so if you're not from around here don't forget that rivers here are not as easy as elsewhere. The natural beauty of King County and the playfulness of the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way there are lots of good spots for that around here. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem and
if you make reservations in advance you're all set. You can enjoy this stretch more if you take your time, so why not pack your sleeping bag too. The starting point is not too far from Seattle-Tacoma-Bellevue, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down
the page. This section of Cedar River is 15.5 miles long and has been rated as a class II section by American Whitewater. Getting a good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great reasons to come. There's camping available near Cedar River. The Landsburg bridge to Maplewood Roadside Park section is the only paddling section along Cedar River.
Briefly about the general area: During the summertime months at Cedar River temperatures are regularly in the 70's, and all through the night it cools down to the 50's. For the duration
of the winter the highs are usually in the 40's, and overnight lows in the 30's for Cedar River. Cedar River gets a typical amount of rainfall; December is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest of the months is July.
