The natural beauty of Lewis County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water attract people from near and far. Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while have a lot of people coming here. The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master in this state than those in other states, so keep in mind that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. in Washington is 6 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class II section. The river winds through the Olympic Mountains and you get great scenery. On this section you do get some distance, it's perfect for a one day trip. No matter if you're whitewater
rafting or kayaking around here you'll find a large number of good rivers. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem and if you make reservations in advance you're all set.
Briefly about the general area: If you're here at Chehalis River, checking out Jones Bluff is a must. Lots of rain falls at Chehalis River; the month of December is the wettest with most of the rain, and July on the other hand is the driest.
Through the summer months at Chehalis River temperatures are typically in the 70's while overnight lows are usually in the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 40's, and night lows at Chehalis River all through the wintertime mostly fall into the 30's.
