Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while are great reasons to come. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way around here you won't find a large number of other rivers. The beautiful scenery of Okanogan County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water make the trip here worthwhile. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. This     stretch is mid length, good for a one day paddling trip. There are a few other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Washington is often tougher than elsewhere, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that the rivers in this state are less manageable. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. The wild scenery of the Northern Cascade Range is great. Briefly about the general area: Around Chewuch River you don’t get a lot of precipitation; during the month of December you get the most snow around here while July is frequently the driest month. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 80's to Chewuch River, and all through   the night it cools down to the 50's. For the period of the winter highs are typically in the 20's, and during the dark hours in the winter at Chewuch River temperatures dip to the 10's.
