The nature scenery of Okanogan County and the playfulness of the water will make you feel great. This section of Chewuch River is 8 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class II+(IV) section. Whitewater paddling here in the Northern Cascade Range is a great experience. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you'll find lots of paddling     places. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. A bit of exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors will have you coming back for more. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. This river system has a few good paddling stretches and the Five Mile Bridge to Winthrop section is one of them. This is a pretty decent length section, it's good length for a morning trip. Briefly about the general area: At Chewuch River you don’t see much rainfall; December is when you get the most snow here while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation. High temperatures at Chewuch River all through the summer months are in the 80's. Summer overnight lows drop down to the 50's.
